Master your cooking skills with me, at home

I invite you to join my small group on-line cooking classes, where you’ll learn new kitchen skills, be inspired by new recipes and indulge in some tasty home cooked eats. 

Classes are based around the simple idea of a seasonal supper. Each class will last for 90 minutes, as we cook the dish together from our respective home kitchens. Throughout the class I will demo everything you need to know, including tricky knife skills, give tips and pointers and be able to answer any of your personal queries.

I am keeping the group size small with a maximum of 5 participants so that it will be easy for everyone to interact with me and each other. It can be lonely living in isolation these days so this will provide a fun opportunity to come on line and connect over food. The great thing about the classes being online is that anyone can join from anywhere in the world! 

The quantities we will cook will be enough for two people, so suitable for sharing with your partner, or if it’s just you, for putting in the fridge to enjoy the following day. 

Five days before the class I will send out an ingredients and equipment list – keeping things as simple as possible, and offer substitutions just in case you can’t find what you need at the supermarket. Everyone will be provided with a recipe sheet to keep.

*Everyday knife skills and ingredient specific skills
*Keeping your kitchen organised and chaos free
*How to season to taste – the key to great tasting restaurant quality food at home
*How to plate up, and tips on garnishes
*Tips on reheating and repurposing leftovers

Basic equipment required to take part
*Oven & hob
*Chopping board and sharp knife
*Saucepan, frying pan, mixing bowls, baking tray, wooden spoon
*Measuring jug
*A basic food processor or blender (immersion or jug) will be helpful. Let me know if you don’t have one when booking.

Seasonal Suppers : Spiced Chicken or Paneer
Wednesday June 3 | 6.30-8pm
Menu: Spiced chicken or paneer skewers (v) with mustard seed sweet potatoes, radish, onion and pomegranate salad & coriander yoghurt.

Seasonal Suppers : Aubergine (Vegetarian)
Wednesday June 10 | 6.30-8pm
Sample Menu: Chermoula roasted aubergine, sweet potato puree, crispy spiced chickpeas, vine roasted tomatoes and balsamic glaze.

Seasonal Suppers : Sea Bass
Wednesday June 17 | 6.30-8pm
Sample Menu: Sea bass, roasted red pepper Romesco sauce, baked polenta fries and marinated courgette ribbon salad

Substantial Seasonal Salads 
Saturday June 20 | 12.30-2pm
Two vibrant substantial salads using a mix of grains, legumes, an array of seasonal veggies and a sensational dressing. A style of cooking popular on retreats!

Seasonal Suppers : Yakitori Chicken
Wednesday June 24 | 6.30-8pm
Yakitori chicken skewers, miso aubergine puree, black rice, broad bean radish and pea salad, with miso sesame dressing

The cooking class will take place via Zoom software, and a link will be set out prior to class. It is helpful, though not essential if you have access to zoom via a laptop or ipad with the gallery function.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. I am not available for these classes, will there be another opportunity to join the class?  
Yes, please email me info@cerijoneschef.com and if there are is enough interest I will schedule additional classes.

2. I don’t have access to a computer/laptop can I still join the class?
Yes, if you are able to use zoom on your mobile that should be fine.

3. I like the sound of the meat/fish class but I am vegetarian, can I still join?
Yes, please let me know via your booking form and I will provide an alternative to the meat/fish for you. For example the chicken can be replaced with marinated paneer.

4. Will you be scheduling classes in July also?
Yes, I will keep this up for as long as there is demand and I am unable to teach in person

5. I would love to join a class but would prefer different recipes?
Please send me your ideas and I will factor that into future planning
