Turmeric added to warm milk to make a turmeric tea, makes a comforting drink for a cold day. I make mine with coconut milk.
Ingredients
1 Tbs freshly grated ginger
2 tsp turmeric
½ tsp ground cardamom
165mls full fat coconut milk (I like the mini cans by Thai Kitchen, or use ½ a regular can)
330 mls water (2 empty coconut can's worth)
½ tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp stevia liquid
Instructions
Squeeze the juice from the grated ginger into a saucepan along with the flesh.
Add the turmeric, cardamom, coconut milk & water and bring to just shy of a boil. Remove from the heat, add the vanilla and stevia and strain to serve.
Notes
A larger batch can be made up, and stored in the fridge in an airtight glass container for a couple of days if preferred. If scaling up the recipe by more than 2, reduce the spices or it will be too strong.
